TWENTY YEARS IN THE HIMALAYA - Charles Bruce, Edward Arnold, London, 1st edn., 1910, original green cloth with gilt titles and embossed design on cover, 330 pages, overall VG, fep - piece cut out, previous owner's signature, rub marks on spine...removal of library stamp?, Large fold-out map of the Himalaya & Karakoram VG, one small tear, A remarkable character from yesteryear...a British military man of long-standing who made journeys through Chitral, Baltistan, Sikkim and Nepal but he was also a member of many of the early Himalayan climbing expeditions, travelled with Conway in Karakoram and led Everest 1922 expedition etc. I wish someone would write a full biography of Bruce...but, till then, this autobiography of a crucial 20 years is rich beyond measure....a cornerstone work for a serious Himalayan library.
