DON WHILLANS - PORTRAIT OF A MOUNTAINEER - Don Whillans & Alick Ormerod, 1st edn, 1981 heavily stamped on endpapers Ex-lib copy with chipped and partly cut dustjacket, Whillans was in the vanguard of a tough new breed of climbers who emerged in the early 1950s and together with Joe Brown forged a remarkable partnership. Whillans put up many first ascents in UK, The Alps, Patagonia...and the Himalaya, notably the South Face of Annapurna.
